Fairburn is a short break respite service, providing nursing care and support to people with learning and physical disability. We offer planned and emergency person centred respite for varying lengths of time, ensuring continuity of care and routine away from home.

We are looking for a Support Worker who is keen to join our professional and enjoyable staff team.

 

As a Support Worker, you will provide service users with the agreed necessary support to maximise their independence and help them develop and maintain relationships as well as social and life skills

 

You will support them to be involved in regular activities, including arts and crafts, puzzles, cooking and entertainment, as well as trips and activities outside the home. To be a driver would be an advantage as we have a mini bus, allowing staff to plan ad-hoc trips, such as eating out and visits to garden centres and the cinema.

 

The successful Support Worker will have strong communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with team members, service users and their families, and  have a caring manner and a tolerant nature.

 

Experience within the sector is not essential as we will provide you with training required to carry out your duties.
